• Hi,

Im having some issues with my site. I have used the qtranslate x plugin to translate the pages and I have placed in the menu the button to change the language. However when I click the flag to change the language it seems that the page is updated but it is still in the same language.

The termination of the link does change when you click the flag (/? Lang = en) / (/? Lang = en) but the page is not translated. I have seen that if you do this and go to the browser bar and press enter it translates, however, it is not good for visitors to have to do that in an awkward way.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi Castosolano.

It seems that I have the same problem on my website… When I click on the flag or translation button, the page is updated but the translation doesn’t appear… I have to refresh the page.

    Hi Sophie,

It would be nice if the support would answer us. Especially if it is a common topic.

    Regards.

Could this be just a server issue regarding the memory allocated? I remember having had ablot of issues before finally moving to Siteground. qTranslate-x is eating quite a lot of ressources…

    Hi Anticosi,

Do you mean it can be a problem related to my hosting?

I find it strange since it seems to be something related to the refresh aspect of the page, which does not finish being completed.

    Hello again,

I have managed to make some changes. Now when clicking on the flag to change the language the page is updated and changes the language correctly. However you are redirected to the main page.

Example: (I am in “https://escultura.es/declaracion/?lang=es” and I change the language. Instead of taking me to “https://escultura.es/declaracion/?lang=en” it takes me to https://escultura.es/

Yes, it did the same on my website ! When I clicked on the flag, the translation was effective but it came back on the main page… And when I clicked again on the other flag to come back to the first langage nothing changed… !

So, I gave up on this pluggin to be honest. I just put the both translations on the same page, it’s not a big deal in my case.

If you don’t mind, keep me informed if you find a solution, it would be great. Or if you try an other free plugin which works well for translations, let me know. Thanks a lot Castosolano and good luck !

@sophiecamp, you might like to try Polylang plugin.
