    Hi,

    I’m glad I got that last issue sorted out and can continue using Updraft ??

    Just casually wondering if it is at all possible to allow these banners to be permanently dismissed?

    The newsletter already has a permanent link at the top of the page, right under the heading, next to the link to the lead developers home page. None of these links bother me, they are discreet enough but I definitely know they’re there and I will sign up for the newsletter, if I really want to. The newsletter banner is not going to increase any chances of me signing up.

    I’m sorry, but I only speak English right now, I wish I could speak more languages, but I don’t, so I unfortunately can’t help with translation.

    I also appreciate Updraft thinking my default scheduler is broken and trying to warn me, but I have in fact disabled it myself, on purpose, and have set real cron to run every 30 mins. And if there really is a problem with any cron jobs, real or default, the built in WP Site Health check will tell me. My auto backups are running fine, within 30 mins of the time set in UD, when the real cron runs. There are 2 of these huge big banners that are essentially telling me the same 2 pieces of useless info and I cannot make them go away, at all. Basically this is redundant information that is now being shown in Site Health, but only if it is in fact a problem, which it isn’t in my case.

    Hope we can work something out ??

    Hi Sean,

    Me again! ??

    To remove the CRON warning message, please add the following line to your ‘wp-config.php’ file:
    define(‘UPDRAFTPLUS_DISABLE_WP_CRON_NOTICE’, true);

    Regarding the banner newsletter, please can you send me a screenshot? There should be an option to close it or dismiss the message.

    Regards,

    Hi Bryle,

    Right, that little trick made the cron warning go away, but there is sill a warning telling me I have overdue tasks in the scheduler, which will happen, until real cron runs within the next 30 mins. So, how can I disable that one too? I’ve tried guessing, but I’m not getting it.

    But when it comes to both of these warnings, do you think the devs would consider putting the disable options in the banners themselves, or maybe removing the banners entirely because WP Site Health now detects and warns for these exact same things.

    I actually can dismiss the newsletter and translate banner, the problem is they keep coming back every time I re-visit the UD dashboard, which is often enough because I do like to go in there to check if my auto backups have run, among other reasons. Yoast is a bit overkill with the banners in their free version, but at least they are just there, embedded into the page and are not dismissible, unless you get premium.

    With just links at the top, maybe you can embed the newsletter and language banners right at the bottom which I’m sure people will see when they scroll down there which won’t take long if they only have 10 or so backups. Just thinking ‘out loud’….

    Hi,

    I will pass on your suggestions to our developers.

    You can disable the cron notice by adding the following to your wp-config file:

    define('UPDRAFTPLUS_DISABLE_WP_CRON_NOTICE', true);

    Although we recommend running the scheduler/cron more often than every 30 minutes around the time the backups are scheduled, to allow the backups to complete efficicently.

    Hi @dnutbourne

    I already have that ‘disable_wp_cron_notice’, I need the one to disable the overdue scheduled tasks notice. See screenshot:

    My scheduler is working just fine. My backups are apparently completing, manual or auto, except the one site that is just over 1GB might pause, and will continue as soon as the next cron is run, although it often completes without stopping, so no worries there.
