My system is configured to use double opt-in messages. Suddenly the language of the message sent to the subscriber has changed (from English to French), which is a catastrophe. I need to understand if there is anything in the plugin that makes an assumption of the language to use and if so, how can I change it.

    Hi Josiah,

Are you referring to the opt-in message sent by MailChimp itself?

I believe that is determined by the user’s browser. I found this article, but I don’t know if it is helpful: https://kb.mailchimp.com/lists/signup-forms/translate-signup-forms-and-emails

    Thank you,

Oh and to follow up, the only language-related functionality our plugin does is the “I am not a robot” reCaptcha message. It will change the language of that message based on what language your WordPress install is in. And you can override that with a short code if you like.

Thanks for that. I just wanted to make sure, given that the change was in the same time frame as the update to the latest version of your plugin. I will follow up with MailChimp.

By the way, IMHO the language of the reCaptcha message should be determined first and foremost by the client, but that is a different kettle of fish.
