Language settings in book page

Hello ,
We are developing a French website and we are happy we tried your plugin, it is great!
I have a question though:
This an author’s website, she is French, almost all her books are published in French.

In the folder Book page settings, I set the default language as ‘French’
However, when adding a new book, in the ‘Format and publishing’ box, the default language that shows remains ‘English’, instead of ‘French’. I need to change it to French with every book I am adding.
That wouldn’t be such a big issue except that when the book is displayed, probably because French is not regarded as default language, ‘(francais)’ shows after the format in bracket, as shown the link above.
We feel it seems a bit strange that every book on a French website about a French author who writes in French, ‘(francais)’ should appear on every book page….
Would there be any advice that you can give to avoid that?
FYI : My browser is Safari – server environment?
