• The current “arrow down” of the language switcher shows a square icon because it cannot load the font awesome icon.

    The icon has html:

    “class=”nav-arrow fa fa-angle-down””
    but should be
    “class=”nav-arrow fas fa-angle-down””

    (replace ‘fa’ with ‘fas’)
(seems to be the case since Font Awesome 5 (https://fontawesome.com/how-to-use/on-the-web/setup/upgrading-from-version-4)

I am running WordPress 5.3.2; I presume somewhere WordPress started using Font Awesome 5.

    Can this be fixed please?

    Thanks!

I fixed it by installing the font awesome plugin and enabling FA 4 support. However, would be nice if it your plugin can be updated to FA 5.

    Hello,

Polylang doesn’t use Font Awesome. The issue is probably related to your theme.
