As mentioned in the title the language switcher keeps redirecting to the home page instead of just switching the page’s language. See page About us. This is the only translated page so far.

I’ve used Translate Press before on another site and it has always worked like a dream. So I would love to resolve this problem that I have encountered.

I’ve tried resetting my permalinks. “Force language in custom links” is set to yes. I do the translation manually. Khmer/English

It is a MULTI-SITE. The plugin is network activated and works correctly on the main domain. It also works correctly on mobile.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help

  • Hello,

Based on the information you provided, it seems that the issue might be related to the usage of full URLs instead of relative links in the menu. When TranslatePress is activated on a multi-site setup, it’s important to ensure that the menu items are using relative links.

Once you have made these adjustments, clear your website’s cache to ensure that the changes take effect. You can usually do this by accessing your caching plugin settings or by using a cache-clearing plugin.

After clearing the cache, please test the language switcher on the “About Us” page again. The issue is most likely related to the use of full URLs in the menu, and making this adjustment should resolve the problem.

    Cheers,

Thanks for your reply. I’ll give it a try tomorrow. Here it’s night time already. I’ll let you know how it goes!

I’m editing this because after looking into your advice I realise that I just don’t know how to do what you are suggesting.

Could you be kind enough to point me in the right direction to find out how in the documentation or a short explanation how I should go about converting the absolute urls to relative urls

Once again thanks for all your help.

I still haven’t been able to resolve this problem. Is there anyone who can help me know how to ensure that the menu items are using relative links?
