Language switcher in widget, horizontal

Hi there,

We started using Polylang. Works great.

Now the language switcher has been placed in the footer and the languages and flags are stacked. We would like them to be inline (horizontal). I found this CSS:

.lang-item {

??display: inline;}

But this is not working for us. Could someone maybe help out?
