Large amount of product variations

    Hello, everyone

    I’m on the level of configuring my on-line shop (adding products).
    I have huge issue with variations. My products are quite complicated:

    Product 1:
    Attribute 1: Lenght (15 options)
    Attribute 2: Additional thread (24 options)
    Attribute 3: Inverted (Yes/No)
    Attribute 4: Additional element (Yes/No)
    Attribute 5: Additional element 2 (Yes/No)

    It takes up to 3000 variations only for one product. And I have around 200 products to create this way (Each have diffrent SKU).
    Creating all manually will be a nightmare. Is there a way to make it automatically ?

  • You’ve got two options:

    Use ‘Any’ as the variation – so:

    Any Length – Any Additional Thread – Any Inverted etc…

    This will only work if you don’t want price differences on the variations.

    A ‘product options’ type plugin. I use Extra Product Options
    This would replace the variations entirely and let you set a single option group and apply it to multiple products/categories/product tags etc.

    Unfortunately, depending on chosen option the price is diffrent for following attributes:

    Attribute 1: Lenght (15 options) – price change
    Attribute 2: Additional thread (24 options) – price change (constatnt value, regardless of chosen option)
    Attribute 3: Inverted (Yes/No) – price doesn’t change
    Attribute 4: Additional element (Yes/No) – price change (constatnt value)
    Attribute 5: Additional element 2 (Yes/No) – price change (constatnt value)

    If I use plugin you mentioned, will be these choices visible if I open the order ? I want to integrate my shop with baselinker (for orders management and warehouse) since I sell items on diffrent platforms. How about visibility of these options in baselinker ?(now I’m working only on SKU numbers to determine version of products).

    The options will show up in the WooCommerce order. But you wouldn’t be ablt to have a different SKU for each variation combination.

    The data will be in the database so you could possibly send it to an order management solution – you’d need to talk to the plugin author regarding that as it would need to be custom coded.

    Hi, I have tried to resolve this problem with Flexible Product Fields PRO, but I can’t add the created field groups onto the product page without creating at least one variant and attributes on the product page.

    I’m ok with creating few variants from 2 basic attributes. But not 3000 ??

    Hi,

    I’ve tested “advanced product fields” addon and made a test order. Order sucessfully imported to baselinker with all choices made in additional fields.
    So I don’t have to create 3000 variants, only 16 and put all remaining fields.
