We have a table with 7,697 rows, 4 columns. Do you have any suggestions for reducing the initial load and delay. Currently it loads all 7 thousand rows initially and then paginates.

Once it’s loaded it responds very quickly.

Thank you so much for making this plugin, it’s solved a data issue for us very well.

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

Unfortunately, I have bad news here. TablePress only supports loading the entire table at once, so that there’s nothing really that I can do about this ??

Now, the DataTables JS library that TablePress uses for the sorting, etc. does support a server side loading mechanism, where only the required parts of a table are loaded at a time. This can not yet be used with TablePress however, but e.g. with the commercial wpDataTables plugin from https://wpdatatables.com (I have no connection to this and have never tried it, but I thought that I should mention it).

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,
Thank you so much for getting back to me and with the recommendations. Please don’t be sorry, loading 7K records is a bit intense.

Thank you for making a great plugin!

    Best Regards,
    Diana

    Hi,

no problem, you are very welcome! Sorry that I could not offer a direct solution. I hope that you can find a satisfactory workaround, and that TablePress is maybe useful for other tables on your site.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
