• Hello,

Lately we were having some issues with our dedicated server, I contacted support team, here is what they have replied

    *************************************
your Query_cache is pruning over 500,000 times a day with your query cache set at 256MB. It’s not commonly known that query_cache will often slow down your MySQL with query caches of 128MB-256MB or more. There are technical reasons behind this but it is often overcome by by properly assuring that your join statements use indexes (which are held in memory). Essentially having a 256MB or higher query cache buffer can result in the opposite of what you intend for it. If you are unable to change your queries to all use indexes.
    *************************************

Can anybody please help how to fix this out?

  • What is your database size ? If you are using unnecesarry plugins get rid of them . I think you are using some plugin which is autogenerating some kind of data .

well its around 5-600MB and nope we are not using any unnecessary plugins, I mean all reputed plugins are installed.

clean options show around 100k records to be removed but I am unable to do it coz it fails every time.

actually we have around 56k of posts and using nextgen gallery which has around 60k wallpapers.

with 56k of posts and … you should have lots of visitors !
I recommend a more powerful server with a strong CPU and much more Ram ??

we are on Xeon E3 1230 V2 with 8GB of Ram.

well thats good enough I think ! do you use a caching plugin ? does its DB caching is enabled ?
