• I use the plugin for long distance motorcycle routes (ie, Chicago to Portland). Each individual writeup consists of a shorter leg of the map, so no problems there. On the MAIN page for the trip, however, I’d like to display the entire route in it’s unified/complete form.

This hangs the browser (on the server side, likely) and then produces a blank page.

Is there a remedy for this issue that doesn’t involve “chopping up the map”?

I’m open to online resources that might scale the file size down but would also like to know if there are ways to bypass the problem on my server.

Help us resolve this matter, please.

    Hey robin_dean,

had the same issue with motorcycle tours.
I took the GPX-Files and uploaded them to GPSies.com. The website is able to reduce the amount of GPS-points. When downloading again you’re able to select to reduce them and after that they work again in WP with GP GPX Maps.

Thank you so much! I should have chimed in again as I too did what you’re suggesting. In my case, GPSBabel was the app download solution.

My raw gpx file has 75k points! Babel brought that down to 5k which was easy for the plugin to render. What’s more, it did so without losing track accuracy.

    I’m satisfied. ??

Very good, I will give a shot to GPSBabel as well ??
