    Recently, we moved a site from a shared hosting to a VPS host. Where we had 2 to 5 abandoned carts per week, we are now seeing upwards of 500 or so abandoned carts daily. So I’m curious if this is something other users have seen. But also, I’d like to determine if this is legitimate activity. What would be a good way to troubleshoot?

    Yes, 500 abandoned carts are huge number per day.

    Can you please confirm that all the abandoned carts have the email address? Or they are Visitor users, who do not provide any personal information.

    The visitor cart will be captured from the cart page. When a guest user comes to your site and add the product to the cart, and reached the cart page but after that, if the customer had abandoned that, then our plugin will capture that cart also.

    When the cart is abandoned by the visitor, our plugin will display ‘Visitor’ in the Customer column of the abandoned orders tab. Please check the screenshot https://prnt.sc/eyzmlz

    Can you please confirm that on your site that you have visitor cart or not?

    If you have all visitor carts, then you can uncheck and save the ‘Enable tracking carts when the customer doesn’t enter details’ setting from Settings tab of our plugin. Please check the screenshot: https://prnt.sc/eyznl8

    The carts were missing the customer details such as email, which was suspicious. I’ve disabled the tracking feature you noted. In your opinion is it safe to say that bots or similar may have caused those abandoned carts?

    Hi Alex,

    Yes, if those carts do not have a customer name or email address and it shows the ‘Visitor’ in the Customer column of the abandoned order then they might be bots.

    As now you have disabled the setting please check that now similar carts are captured or not.
