Large white space between Main Menu bar and Header Widget

Just remove this css from desktop view, this will fixed your spacing issue

Thank you very much. I’m sorry, please excuse my ignorance but can you explain how to do this. I’ve never edited the css before. I went into the theme file editor but I can’t find the code that you refer to.

just add it to the customizer’s additional CSS option

change it to
#logo {
padding-top: 0px;
}
