    Hello,

    I recently marked a bunch of old pages with noindex, but they keep generating empty sitemaps that return a 404 error.

    I have cleared RankMath cache, updated permalinks, added in functions.php
    add_filter('rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

    In https://www.cotilleo.es/sitemap_index.xml all the sitemaps are listed, but the last ones (>post-sitemap180.xml) are broken.

    I’ve tried adding the IDs in the post exclusion field in the sitemaps, but that doesn’t work either.

    I think for the index it counts all the posts, even if they are without an index.

    How do I solve it?

    Hello,

    After applying your suggestion (increasing the number of links per sitemap), the error persists. The last three sitemaps show a 404 error.

    Hello @jose-lazo,

    We checked your sitemaps, and the links per sitemap are still set to 200. Could you please increase it to 250 instead?

    Afterwards, please follow these steps:
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/xXXhDt

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    That should fix the issue. Please let us know if that does not. We are here to assist. Thank you.
