• Booooooooo…

    I’ll update my 1-star review if the developer chooses to come back and address this issue.

  • 1. go to edit /wp-admin/admin.php
    find lines 47-48

    wp_redirect( admin_url( 'upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=' . urlencode( wp_unslash( $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] ) ) ) );
    exit;

    2. Comment it
    3. Go to plugins page and deactivate W3 Total Cache
    4. Update WP again to newest version
    5. Enable W3 total Cache.

    Im not a W3 Total Cache developer, but they are do a best job for you for free, waste a lot of time for it, spend a lot of money i think, and you downloaded this plugin for free and you marked a 1 star because you have some problem and dont want to resolve it yourself. Mrazota.

    Perhaps you’re right, 1 star may be unfair based on the fact it was free, and we shouldn’t complain about things we get for free. But, don’t assume I didn’t want to resolve it myself, I simply didn’t know how. Nor do I feel I should have to resolve it myself when dozens of other people are also having the same problem, and the developer has fallen off the face of the earth.

    Also, even after your suggestion, there are questions:
    Do I uncomment the lines after I re-enable W3 Total Cache?
    And, will have to do this for every minor update after 4.7?

    Again, things I don’t feel I should have to worry about…
