• The last update removes all custom tab content after resave a product. We lost hundreds of FAQ datas. The checkbox “Override the default tab content for this product” did not work. After product saving the checkbox was automatically disabled again. No server error.log and no log in debug.log.

  • Same. The result is rather catastrophic for our ecommerce site. We already have received loads of support questions asking for information that should be already available online.

I ended up paying for the “pro” version of the plugin last week hoping it would resolve the issue, but no luck. There also hasn’t been any reply from their support to my inquiry on January 11th.

I’ll give it a few more days before looking elsewhere and leaving another 1 star review so people can avoid the hassle.

    The same happened me.

Hi everyone. I’m very sorry for the bug that was introduced in version 2.1.0 of the plugin. This was a massive oversight and it shouldn’t have happened.

We have just released an update (2.1.0.1) which fixes the issue. If you update the plugin, you’ll be able to save your products without losing any more tab data.

My apologies again for the problems and the data you’ve lost. Please report back on this support thread if you get any further problems.

Thanks. Updating the plugin fixed the save glitch, but did not automatically restore tabs to existing products as they were before. There are probably a lot of users whose custom tab data is still saved in the database but not displaying on the site.

I restored them by exporting all products and reimporting them with the meta field for overriding the default custom tab specified as “yes” where appropriate.

Thanks for your reply. I’ll look into this and see if we can find a solution for those tabs.

    Hi, sorry for the delay.

From our testing, tab data is only lost if the product is updated in the WordPress admin. If the product has not been updated, the tab data still exists in the database so doesn’t need to be exported/imported. If the product has been updated, the data is wiped and cannot be recovered (but only for the product that was updated). In that happens, the only way to recover the data is to restore from a backup.

If you are still running 2.1.0 of the plugin we recommend you update as soon as possible to 2.1.0.1 to fix the update bug, but no export/import is required.

Thanks, that is similar to what we found.

However, in our experience even though the tab data was still saved in the database, after updating to the latest version plugin the product tabs did not actually display on the product page (even after purging the site cache and loading the page in a “fresh” browser).

A quick fix was to “Edit” the product and click “Update”. After doing that the product tabs appeared on the page as intended, but with hundreds of products that method would have been too time consuming. The bulk import/export allowed us to get them all republished at once. I’m not sure if this situation would apply to any other plugin users but that is what we found.

Thanks for the information, that’s really helpful. I’ll see if we can address that in the next update.

After installing (again) the latest update (after going back in time with backup), the tabs disappeared. Then, “updating” my only 10 products made the tabs reappear. Thanks.

@lollov99 We have released a new version of the plugin (2.1.2) that fixes the issue and you don’t need to re-save the products.
