    Hello,

I’m setting up my site and would love to have my latest blog post show up on my homepage in its entirety. Ideally the page would retain the formatting (text width, color, etc.) of the post’s actual page. I thought there might be a shortcode to use, but I just can’t figure it out.

    Thanks!

    Hey,

I’m sorry but it’s not possible to include the single post inside a page.

    Thank you for your reply!

That’s a bummer. I thought it’d be simple to just show a single post as the front page of my site, but I guess it’s harder than I thought.

If you just want to have one blog post on your front page, without other content, that is possible.

    1. Go to Settings ? Reading.
    2. Choose “Your latest posts” for “Your homepage displays”.
    3. Choose “1” for “Blog pages show at most”.

    Save changes.

You can then go to Appearance ? Customize ? Blog ? Blog Page / Archive and type 9999 for the “Excerpt Length” field. (You can actually write the number in the white input field even if the slider will go only to 100).

Ah, I spoke too soon. I’ve gone in and made those changes and it looks like all I’m seeing on the front page is the post title, no content. Do you know why that might be? I’m sure I did all the steps you listed in your last reply.

    Thanks again for your help!
