    Hi there,

I installed Yoast SEO yesterday and it seems to have done something to the main site name of my website on the top left of the home page. Instead of displaying the name of the website, it displays the title of the latest blog post.

The tagline is set correctly inside WordPress. However, this doesn’t show anymore on the home page. It shows the title of the latest blog post.

Can someone please help me to fix this?

    Thank you.

What’s your website URL so we can have a look at it?

    Hi Kim,

    Thanks for your reply.

The link is as follows: https://e-booksindia.com

The site name and tagline doesn’t show on the top left. Instead, the name of the latest blog post shows.

I would be grateful for your help.

    Thank you.

    Hi ebooks123!

This depends on how your theme is set up and also if it.

In WordPress 4.1 and newer, your theme should support the Title Tag core feature.

If your theme does not support this, please try the fallback suggestions found here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/the-seo-title-output-for-the-plugin-doesnt-work-as-expected/.

Once you’ve checked to make sure that the correct title tag is there, you will want to check your variables in the Titles & Metas settings for your front page under SEO > Titles & Metas > Homepage tab, in your WordPress admin.

This also happened to me recently, perhaps with a recent plugin update?

I use Vertex, by Elegant Themes. Woke up one morning and first noticed that the homepage title was that of a blog post from over a year ago that had been published as a “sticky”. I removed the “sticky”, and now the home page of the website is the title of the most recent blog post.

    The website is pharecircus.org

    WordPress 4.7.3
    VertexVersion: 1.8.7
    Yoast version 4.6

SEO > Titles & Metas > Homepage tab
    %%sitename%% %%page%% %%sep%% %%sitedesc%%
