Latest Hiero Update Wrecked My Custom Code
-
I just updated my website, ReptiFiles.com, from Hiero theme version 1.7 to 1.8 today, and almost all of the custom work I’ve done in style.css is gone. It doesn’t affect the function of the site, thank goodness, but it does look very ugly and negatively impacts its overall user-friendliness.
Changes I’ve noticed:
– Submenu font color has changed from white to pink.
– Submenu item dividers have changed from black to red.
– Mobile menu font color has changed from gray to red.
– Link color has changed from teal to red.
– Width of the page (menu+ content + sidebar) in desktop has reduced to original theme width. What I need done:
– Colors changed back to the originals.
– Width increased by at least 200 pixels.I’ve tried changing a few colors in the menus myself, but I’m not seeing results. Should changes in the style.css sheet be visible immediately on the site after refreshing? I’m seeing changes in the mobile version, but not on desktop.
Last thing – after getting this fixed, should I never update the theme again? Worried about the site going out of date if I don’t.
Thanks in advance for any help!
