    Hi
I want to do a front page as a magazine masonry layout with 24 posts, one each from 24 categories:
    – Each post is the latest post in one category.
    – (there is only one post shown from each category)
    – The latest post goes to the top of the page.
    – (also, each category should be seen on each post as a link)

There are 24 contributors (via Postie, which creates a post to a specific category based on the email it came from).

This way there is competition between the 24 contributors, so the latest post from a particular contributor will go to the top of the page. Its an attempted cure for laziness.

Any thoughts if this is possible?
    Marek

    Dear Marek,
I understand your need: show only 1 latest post for each selected category.
Yes, it is possible with Content Views Pro: in Taxonomy settings, there is an option to set number of posts for each category (for your need, that number is 1).

Thank you. Well, now I need to find a minimal theme for this and customize!

This is really annoying. I assumed the author was talking about the pro version of Post Grids, not an entirely different plugin! So I got the Pro version of Post Grid and it is useless to me.
Waste of my time working on a plugin that doesn’t do what I need.

    Dear Marek,
I apologize for the problem you had.
As you want a special request “Show only 1 post of each selected categories“, so I answered you this feature is available in our Content Views Pro plugin.
It will definite work for your need.

Please feel free to ask if you need any further information.

    Thank you,
