Latest post messages arriving a day late

    I am relatively new to this plugin and mail service, so go easy…

    Because I am hosted with SiteGround I followed the instructions to do a real cron job. (They only allow it to run once per 30 minutes).

    I have designed my email messages to go out notifying readers of new posts. I am also on the list so expect to receive the message myself.

    I had a post that was published on Monday 12/8/19 at 18:00, however I received the email announcing this mid morning on Tuesday. It is hard to claim that the email subscribers are the first to know when it is a day later than the social media announcements…

    Secondly, I don’t know if it is linked in any way but my notification message that arrived in Gmail asked me if I wanted to view the images, almost as if it didn’t trust where the message came from.

    Third, I know I am pushing my luck, but last week I received an email about a post and it was a previously published one that I had simply done the tiniest tweet to. Is there any way of informing MailPoet this is a new Publish / Revised Post that needs sending, or an edit to a post to ignore.

    I have a tight schedule on the whole, one category publishes on a Thursday at 6pm and the others, when they have content, publish on a Monday at 6pm. Could I edit the cron to activate at those times only in any way?

    Thanks in advance for any help, I love so much about MailPoet that I would hate to have to leave due to a few technical issues.

    How many subscribers do you have in total? When you set up the cron job for every 30 minutes it should start sending at the set time (18:00). But as it processes in batches, the exact time to send will depend on your sending method and the number of subscribers, could you let us know those please?

    Are you sending from an email address at your domain? E.g. [email protected] or are you sending from a Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo etc address?

    Had you just set the post notification up by any chance? When you first set up a post notification it will send out old content straight away on the creation of the post notification and then from that point forwards will only send new content.

    Thank you for coming back to me.

    To go through the questions.

    I currently have about 30-40 confirmed subscribers, the others have not confirmed.

    I am sending the email through my domain email address.

    It is possible that I may have just set up the post notification when the initial message was sent, so that is resolved, thanks.

    We recently launched an update that should allow you to use the “Visitors to your website” option on Siteground. Can you try updating to that option and see if it works correctly?
