I’ve checked several topics before posting and followed all the suggestions, except for switching themes.

I use Make/Make Plus with a child theme.

I have 3 posts listed but the 3 most recent posts won’t show. I created 3 quick test posts and that pushed those 3 missing posts to the homepage. So that worked, however, when I turned the test post back into drafts, the problem came back.

I did turn off all plugins and turned them back on again. But while they were off, that posts list section was just a string of code.

Wordpress is up to date. All plugins are up to date.

  • Your home page is using a page template, so you should ask in your theme’s support forum.

It turns out “item offset” option was set to 3, so was skipping the first 3 posts. I would have thought item offset referred to spacing of some sort so I didn’t even notice it.

If that options is not exclusive to my theme, shall we leave this topic here in case someone else has the same issue? It would save them a lot of pain.

We don’t delete topics, so it will stay here, but yes it is exclusive to that theme or page template, although it is a standard variable you can specify in a WordPress query.
