• Hello,

My page always shows up as page 1 instead of the latest blog that I wrote. On my side panel, I have ‘Recent Posts’ listed, and it does put the most recent first, however, I want the recent post to be the page that we see first.

I saw an earlier posting on this subject and it said that the problem was with the host. However, my host provider says that they are using the lasted files, and so the problem isn’t with them.

    Can anyone help me here?

thanks for in input kmessinger. The problem is that on my dashboard, settings, reading page, there is nothing about front page displays on it.

    All I have is:
Blog pages show at most xx posts
Syndication feeds show the most xx recent items
For each article in a feed, show: xxx

I am using 3.2 so I’m not sure why mine should be different from yours.

I saw in a help file where they show the reference to the “Front Page Displays”, but that line is not there on my screen.

I am having the same problem. Since the last two updates, my current posts do not show up as current, but as the next post to see/read.

My dashboard is set to: settings/ reading/ latest posts

I’m now using 3.2, my theme is Suffusion 3.7.8 and Suffusion claims it’s not their issue.

At a total loss, pleaase help!

It shouldn’t unless there is a theme or plugin conflict.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). Don’t forget the ones in mu-plugins. If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

I appreciate you sticking by and helping. I deactivated the plugins. (there was only one.) I changed to the Twenty Eleven theme as well. And yet… there is no change to my:settings/reading page. There is no “Front Page Displays” option at all.

Delete the wp-includes and wp-admin folders. Download a fresh copy of WP. Unzip the files on your computer and ftp new copies of those directories up to the server. Do NOT bother the wp-content folder.

    Hi, I’m back!

I am having the same problem as methotol on another blog that I’m working on.

    Here’s what I’ve got –

this blog is a freebie blog off of wordpress.com so the url is:

    ourdogtrainingsite.wordpress.com

    wordpress is latest version

    no plugins

    Motion theme

Settings – Readings – latest posts

I have created 4 posts which show up in the sidebar under recent entries, but only the second post shows up on the actual homepage

Since I have no plugins, can’t re-upload anything, not sure how to fix this problem.
