Latest twitter widget hasn't updated since 6 days ago

I have the same problem. I just noticed that no tweets are shown since July 11. I am using it on https://blog.jensen-localization.com.

Same problem. Been using for months – ran great.

Then for no reason (I didn’t install anything – no WP upgrades )and it has been 11 days ago since last post shown. My twitter is updating – I do daily posts, but doesn’t show in this widget.

What gives ?

Any ideas? Fixes ?

It all has to do with twitters new API(v1.1).Twitter have been slowly introducing the new API over the last six months and completely stop the old as of 2 weeks ago. I have found a few different site the supply code that can support the new API;

Hi all i found a better/easier plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/rotatingtweets/

PReno is correct, twitter killed their old API. This happened in 2010 and I had to rewrite the whole plugin back then, too. I’ll make the changes whenever I get some free time.

Thanks Corey. I like the simplicity of how your plugin looks. In the meantime I’ve just plugged in the standard Twitter widget but if you could keep us informed of progress I think I’d be inclined to switch back to yours when it’s done.

Understand. I don’t envy plugin authors. I sure hope that sites like Twitter support all the plug-in authors in their endeavours at writing good utilities to extend twitter feeds onto websites, etc.

This plugin worked the best & most reliably for me for the past 6 months. Twitter Widget Pro, did work, then wouldn’t update. Always had locks on & I had to clear. Finally ditched several months ago to this one – now the API at twitter changed. I use plug-ins because I do NOT want to “muck” with code. The rotatingtweets mentioned above looks OK, except it only shows 1 tweet at a time – would prefer if it flashed 3-5 at a time for 10 secs or so. Also, I am not confident that it’s interface works with the new twitter API ??

Again, I don’t endeavor to be a programmer, so want a good stable plug-in.

If anyone comes across any that look nice on a website, please let me/us know.

I still prefer this one, if the author can fix soon enough – “Latest Twitter Sidebar Widget” ??

Hi all,

Just to confirm, Rotating Tweets works with the new Twitter API.

Anyone who wants to borrow the code I pulled together (inspired and helped by the work of Abraham Williams and the oAuth Twitter Feed of Liam Gaddy) and reapply it to their own plug-in is welcome to do so.

As T says, Rotating Tweets doesn’t yet rotate groups of 3-4 Tweets, although this is in development.
