@allmyhoney – You should update to the latest release of 2.0.66.17 (just out today) but unfortunately a screen capture does not provide enough information. Could you also share a link to the site so we can see this happening?

    Thanks!

@cais, 2.0.66.17 still has this problem and still images are all down the page. I tried this not on one website but 3 and all the same issue with the next gen plugin latest release. https://www.scoiloilibheir.ie/about-us/ and scroll down and you see the effect.

Can you please update with a fix as this has been ongoing for about a week and see other with issues here also. Thanks

@allmyhoney – Thanks for updating and the link to your site. What you are seeing is due to NextGEN Gallery not being able to use its JavaScript and CSS that controls the thumbnails display layout.

This is often due to a plugin conflict but may be due to a theme conflict in very rare cases, have you checked for these possibilities?

The theme is woothemes canvas and have been using this for years with nextgen so this is doubtful and its a very popular theme. So I will test plugins next but these have not changed on these sites at all, the upgrade was the issue here on nextgen plugin – I am not saying its not a conflict but I did not install a new plugin for example here that could have caused this. Thanks

@allmyhoney – We have not had any reports of issues directly attributed to WooThemes Canvas so I would tend to agree with you on that aspect but that still leaves other active plugins as a possible cause.

@cais it looks like a cross browser error. As you can see this link here works fine in Firefox and not in Chrome. https://www.europeanmovement.ie/ymip/

So the issue seems to be that it needs some cross browser bug squashing here and not a paritcular conflict with another plugin it seems. Let me know.

@allmyhoney – The site is also using an older version of NextGEN Gallery. Does this still happen if you update to the most recent release?

@cais – yes this happens on the latest release and it seems to be a conflict between NextGEN Gallery Optimizer and your plugin. Should one be using NextGEN Gallery Optimizer with your plugin or is there no need anymore? Can you explain if it is fine to use it on its own now? Thanks

    (@photocrati)

@allmyhoney – NextGEN Gallery Optimizer is not currently compatible with NextGEN Gallery but I do believe that plugin author is working on a new release which will correct most if not all of the conflicts it creates.

@cais ok thanks for the update. Right now I can confirm it is in direct conflict with Next Gen for sure so I look forward to the updates on this.

Unfortunately its not NextGen Gallery Optimizer that is the issue. On further testing it is the Nextegen itself and it happens on and off on chrome browser only. To avoid many messages back and fourth here, as I say this happens sometimes, not everytime, but sometimes, with that in mind I have to send you a link to it because from using the direct url it could work fine 5 times but then does not. here is the screen shot: https://i62.tinypic.com/2v1lqtz.jpg

and here is the direct link to my site and the problem page: https://www.europeanmovement.ie/photo-gallery/

Ok I found the conflict and it was my caching plugin Hyper Cache. Hyper Cache 3.x and the new NextGen Gallery do not work well together right now. Would love if you worked together to resolve this as both are very popular plugins here and very much needed. I have started a thread on this on the Hyper Cache plugin support page also here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/conflict-with-the-nextgen-gallery-plugin-and-hyper-cache-3x?replies=1#post-5962836

@allmyhoney – Most caching plugins are fine to use with NextGEN Gallery but there are some settings that will cause havoc if used such as minify and CDN.

How to best set those up will most likely fall to the caching plugin author as well.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with.

    Thanks!

I am not using minify or CDN here. Can you see the last reply here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/conflict-with-the-nextgen-gallery-plugin-and-hyper-cache-3x?replies=1#post-5962836 the suggestion is there maybe a buffering issue and maybe a setting one can choose. Maybe you can collaborate on this because I know thousands use hyper cache and the same for your plugin. Thanks
