Latest Update 1/19/17 Put Site into Permanent Maintenance Mode

This morning I logged in to find the JetPack plug-in needed an update. I clicked the update. This presented an error message that it was unsuccessful and now my site won’t come out of “maintenance mode” and I cannot get logged back in to deactivate the plug in. Even wp-admin gives me the screen telling it’s in maintenance mode and to check back in a few minutes.
How can I fix this?
