    Hi

When updating MLA in WP 4.0 with the latest release, choosing MLA categories is “dead” in media manager (also the filter terms -but that never worked anyway stable).

The version “before” with WP 4.0 works…

We role back MLA one step, in all our installs WordPress 4.0 for now…

Spontainius, Must be a javascript conflict, b I d know for shure.

Our installs are huge and advanced. For now, we don have time to bug or track this issue, but im reporting this so any one else can get this info.

Thanks for this report; I regret the trouble you are having with the latest MLA version 1.93.

I have not been able to reproduce your issue on my test system, and I would welcome any additional information you have time to provide.

If you can confirm the MLA version that is working properly for you it would help me compare it the latest version to see what changes I made to cause the problem. Are you using MLA v1.92 or some earlier version?

You should know that MLA versions earlier than v1.93 will not work well with the new “Media Grid” view added to WP 4.0 for the Media/Library submenu.

Again, I regret the inconvenience caused by the latest update and I appreciate you help and patience while I work to fix it; thank you.

    Hi

We are now using 1.92, after we tried 1.93 or newer. Only problem occurs when we try to select another “att category” in the Media manager (when inserting new media), the media table works fine. The “dead” is so typically script problem.

We can see that ACF is also updating, som it might be a conflict between ACF and MLA.

1.92 works great in all our 4.0 installs.

I will follow this next weeks, and report a solution if a conflict matter shows up. We spend A LOT OF TIME to test everything before going live. The new version of MLA cant go live until we track this.

Im shure it will be revealed! sooner or later.

Thanks for your update and your promise to continue your investigations. I activated ACF 4.3.9 (released three days ago for WP 4.0) and on my system the MLA Add Media “att category” dropdown is working properly, as is the “Terms Search” popup.

On your test site you might consider “define(‘SCRIPT_DEBUG’, true);” in your wp-config.php file to make identifying the source of a JavaScript problem easier. You could also copy the un-compressed mla-media-modal-scripts.js over the compressed mla-media-modal-scripts.min.js version of that’s better for you. Using the uncompressed script has sometimes solved a problem and it always helps find a problem’s cause.

In the past, simply using “define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false);” has sometimes worked as well. Combining multiple scripts from different plugins fails in rare circumstances for reasons I do not yet understand.

If your test site is Internet accessible and you are willing to give me temporary author-level login credentials I could do some investigation myself. I understand this may not be possible.

Thanks again for your continued work on this issue!

Thank you for working with me offline and sending the additional details on your issue and the work-around you applied.

I believe you recent post in another support topic actually belongs here:

    Latest Release Breaks Image Uploader

Based on the information you gave me I was able to find and fix two MLA defects that occurred when the “Media Manager Enhanced Search Media Box” was disabled but the “Media Manager Category/Tag filter” was enabled.

Both of these have been fixed and uploaded to the Development Version. I will leave this topic unresolved until the fixes are included in the next MLA general release.

I have the same problem. Is there a stop-gap fix I can do until the next version comes out with the fix?

    @chrissilich,

There are a couple of things you can do:

    1. You can download the Development Version, then upload it to your site and activate it. This version contains a fix for the problem. Go to the “Developers” tab above and click on the “Development Version” link to download it.
    2. You can enable the “Media Manager Enhanced Search Media Box” (assuming you disabled it). Go to Settings/Media Library Assistant General tab, scroll down and make sure the “Media Manager Enhanced Search Media box” is checked. You can uncheck the “Media Manager Enhanced Search Media Controls” box to remove the extra controls for the Search Box.
    3. You can disable all of the Media Manager enhancements. Uncheck the “Enable Media Grid Enhancements” and “Enable Media Manager Enhancements” boxes.

I am traveling with limited e-mail access; please be patient if I can’t respond to your updates for a few days. Thanks for your understanding and for your interest in the plugin.

I have released MLA version 1.94, which contains the fix for this issue.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have a problem after upgrading to the new version. Thanks for your patience and your interest in the plugin.
