Just letting you know that the latest update caused an H3 tag in my HTML to wrap around all following html. Try adding an H3 followed by two paragraphs to a slide and hopefully you’ll see the problem.

    Thanks for your help.

  • It’s way worse than that. We have padding/height/margins added that we can’t seem to find and kill. The auto height feature is not working correctly. Basically we have to bail on this plugin right now because the update breaks almost everything we created using this plugin.

Ok, this is a problem with the latest version of Slide Anything – version 2.2.8. But this problem only occurs when you have the “Remove JavaScript Content” or the “Enable LazyLoad Images” options enabled.

I have created 3 test sliders:
    1. Basic Test Slider
    2. Slider with ‘Remove JavaScript Content’ option enabled
    3. Slider with ‘Enable Lazy Load Images’ enabled

For all 3 sliders I had a H3 tag followed by two paragraph tags.

The first slider is fine, but for sliders 2 and 3, the HTML gets broken, and the paragraph tags get embedded within the H3 tag.

So, the latest release 2.2.8 involved changes to these 2 options only – another user suggested a change which affected these 2 options only. I’m going to look at this now, but will probably revert to the previous version 2.2.7.

In the meantime, un-check these 2 checkboxes (‘Remove JavaScript Content’ and ‘Enable Lazy Load Images’).

Ok, I’ve just released version 2.2.9 of Slide Anything – which is the same as version 2.2.7 (with the 2.2.8 changes removed)

Thanks for the updates Simon. I appreciate testing must be hard with so many options. I’ll disable lazy load for now.

Yes, that is why this Forum and the feedback I get are handy ??

There are many nooks & crannies to Slide Anything, and a few times in the past I’ve made a change that resulted in some other part of SA breaking, and the forum feedback is normally quite quick to alert me to the fact.

The problem is still there though. We can’t use Lazy Load or Remove JavaScript Content settings without having a really old DOCTYPE appear on every slide on the page. I’ve tried disabling one or the other, but it’s necessary to uncheck both of those options. I hope you are able to find a way to fix this problem.

Download version 2.3.0 of Slide Anything.

With this version, when you enable the ‘Lazy Load Images’ or ‘Remove JavaScript’ options the HTML, DOCTYPE & BODY tags are now stripped-out from the front-end code.
