Latest update broke my site

Hi! Would you be able to let me know what exactly happened when you updated to version 4.2? Was the formatting / layout incorrect? Did you receive an error?

All of the images that were supposed to be stripped weren’t stripped from the excerpt; they were displayed full size.

No errors that I can recall.

My settings preferences were also reset I believe.

Me too. Deactivated the plugin and all is fine.

The layout was completely messed up. No errors.

There’s more! Now my excerpt lengths are messed up (they have increased). This is after I deactivated your plugin.

Reinstalled, reactivated v4.2 and all is back to normal.

Easy on Chris, this is a free plugin ?? that said, you should consider donating for his hard work. I just did.

Chris, please keep us posted, I’m eager to update to the new version; I’m currently rolled back on the previous version so my sites don’t break.

Also, are you using the_advanced_excerpt() function by any chance?

I updated directly through WordPress. I didn’t try the github version.

I am also having the same issue as jrp1. I too have tried the latest version in git and I am using the function above. Please help!

Are you still experiencing issues where images are not being stripped?

Could you please update to version 4.2.2 and see if it’s still an issue?

Are you guys using the the_advanced_excerpt() function? If so, how are you calling the function (i.e. which arguments are you using).

If not, could you please send me a screenshot of the Advanced Excerpt plugin page settings in your WordPress dashboard, Settings → Excerpt.

Updated to 4.2.2 and had the same issue. It completely messed up my site layout …content and sidebars were gone.

Reinstalled 4.1.1 and all is back to normal.

For anyone that is experiencing a problem, would you be able to let me know the theme you’re using?
