I just updated Solid Security (to 8.0.4) on a few of my sites and I got a fatal error on all of them:

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Interface ‘iThemesSecurity\Contracts\Import_Export_Source’ not found in /home/customer/www/groenteavontuur.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ithemes-security-pro/core/modules.php:16 Stack trace: #0 /home/customer/www/groenteavontuur.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ithemes-security-pro/core/core.php(125): require() #1 /home/customer/www/groenteavontuur.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ithemes-security-pro/ithemes-security-pro.php(99): ITSEC_Core->init(‘/home/customer/…’, ‘Solid Security …’) #2 /home/customer/www/groenteavontuur.nl/public_html/wp-settings.php(462): include_once(‘/home/customer/…’) #3 /home/customer/www/groenteavontuur.nl/public_html/wp-config.php(110): require_once(‘/home/customer/…’) #4 /home/customer/www/groenteavontuur.nl/public_html/wp-load.php(50): require_once(‘/home/customer/…’) #5 /home/customer/www/groenteavontuur.nl/public_html/wp-admin/admin.php(34): require_once(‘/home/customer/…’) #6 /home/customer/www/groenteavontuur.nl/public_html/wp-admin/index.php in /home/customer/www/groenteavontuur.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ithemes-security-pro/core/modules.php on line 16

Not sure if its just me, but I got it on multiple websites. I now turned the plugin off by renaming the folder, but I don’t want to keep it off too long offcourse.

I hope someone can help me! ??
    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards,
    Laura Jacob

it was better to 1) auto test the zip before shipping
but even more so.. to 2) just up the version numbering, or am I wrong on this?

We had to manually remove a zipped source file on a secured server as it was refusing to update as the versions of the broken zip and the fixed zip were the very same.

Regarding the fix for Solid Security Pro v8.0.4.

How do I force a reinstall of 8.0.4 if the site I’m managing for a client has the problematic version 8.0.4 installed?

I do not have access to the SolidWP Member Panel.

I had swapped in the Solid Security Basic while the issue was being worked and I’d like to get the Pro version back online.

    Hi Matt,

Never mind, on Nov 14th SolidWP released Solid Security Pro v8.1.0

    8.1.0 – 2023-11-14

New: Add support for creating custom firewall rules.
Enhancement: Add support for configuring firewall settings from the Firewall page.
Bug Fix: The firewall page would appear empty when geolocation could not retrieve a country code.

Simply manually delete the plugins/ithemes-security-pro folder and then upload/unzip the 8.1.0 release zip file.

@nlpro when deleting the plugins/ folder. How about al the settings?

    nlpro

    (@nlpro)

    Hi @wvansolkema,

The plugin settings are stored in the (MySQL) database. Only if you click on the Delete link on the Plugins page the settings will be deleted (from the database).

So it’s perfectly safe to manually delete the plugin folder (preferably after deactivating the plugin). All settings are persisted in the database.

I hope this answers your question.

    Hi Folks,
Returning here to close the loop on my issue and how I resolved it.

    • The problematic v8.0.4 of SolidWP Security Pro was deactivated since it triggered a fatal error on activation. It would not “phone home” to request an update to the v8.1.0.
    • I do not have access to my client’s SolidWP Security Pro account to download the correct 8.1.0, nor to submit a ticket to request a direct download link.
    • I pulled an older version of the plugin off a backup from the prior week, uploaded and activated that on the live website, overwriting the 8.0.4 version.
    • From here was able to update directly to 8.1.0.

It all depended on getting a functioning version of SolidWP Security Pro running while not having access to the client’s SolidWP Security account.

    All done. Up and running.
