• I just installed the latest update and it crashed my website! Luckily I was able to restore the plugin through my Cpanel. Why is this update causing websites to crash?

  • Thanks I will check with my colleague

I got this error as soon as I updated W3 Total Cache:
Fatal error: Class ‘W3_Config’ not found in /home/thabo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wptouch/core/class-cache-smash.php on line 96

I’m using version 5.4.39 of PHP. I had to ftp an older version ow W3 from another website I run and upload it to the broken site. This needs to get fixed.

500 Error – Server Error caused by latest update.

@thebotswana that issue is from WPTouch, not W3TC check their support page.

For everyone here please provide any information regarding the internal server error (if there are any logs) and the PHP version you are running if it’s less than 5.6 you are below what www.ads-software.com recommends but you should at least be running 5.3 with this update.

My website crushed as well. My site architecture is Nginx, cloudfront & ELB. The plugin asked me to restart my Nginx, which I have done, and than the site, loggedout area, went out and became unaccessible. The site returns 200 but only the index page loads. Source code shows a blank page. I disabled all the plugin features using the admin (which is accessible) and site came back to life.

Than I tried to run the plugin in debug mode. Everytime I “previewed” the site, it worked well, but when I released all my modifications, the logged-out area disappeared, and now I had to completely deactivated the plugin.

I’m using PHP 7, and I got no internal server error. I got a 200 response, and a blank page

I renamed the w3-total-cache folder, and my site is working again. Thanks for this information, I was already going nuts.

As to the question of php-version: that can’t be the reason, my provider runs php 7!
