Latest Update Crashed Site

    Updated to latest version and get this error:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /wp-content/plugins/amazon-associates-link-builder/ip2country/aalb_maxmind_db_manager.php on line 197

    This caused my whole site to go down. Had to do FTP to disable. Now that its disabled my Publisher Studio is no longer working, and “shop Amazon” is no longer displaying in the corner of my links (from code pasted off Amazon Associates). Why would it do that since its disabled?

    I saw this thread, but I’m unable to update to 5.4.0. I currently use 5.4 and my next option is 5.5, which my hosting says is not stable yet.

    Is there another way to fix or can I downgrade to last version?

    Dear @slis,

    1. What do you mean by PHP 5.4? Is it PHP 5.4.0 or any other version. You can check the same by using plugins like Display PHP version which displays PHP version on the dashboard.
    2. You can update to other stable PHP versions like PHP 5.6 or PHP 7 which will resolve your issue.

    Hi Had the same issue were after updating to version 1.5.2 from 1.5.1 it crashed site:
    – Php version is 5.6.30
    – uninstalled manually plugin via cpanel
    – went into wordpress, plugin, add plugin 1.5.2 directly from there.
    – try to activate plugin and now I have this error:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/s2u76/public_html/xxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/amazon-associates-link-builder/ip2country/aalb_maxmind_db_manager.php on line 197

    which is the same error I had before when it crashed my site after upgrade of plugin.
    I checked tread https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/the-plugin-crashed-my-site-3/page/2/

    Checked with host provider and they don’t block any download.

    Would you be able to give me support? are you currently working on resolving this issue?

    Hi have deleted folder of the plugin.
    -installed manually (upload) plugin 1.5.1
    – activated succesfully
    – configured in with my details
    -when I go to a post, I can’t see the amazon icon (“a”)to add shortcode into my post

    any idea why?

    Dear users,

    We fixed this issue in v1.5.3 of the plugin released yesterday. Please update to same and let us know if everything works fine.
