Hi–after updating Simple Banner to 2.1.1, I noticed that certain elements of my website (most notably the rollover menus in my theme header) stopped working. I’ve disabled the plugin for now, but is this something that could be fixed in a quick update?

Hi @geedave version 2.1.1 is essentially a rollback to version 2.0.7. I removed jQuery in 2.1.0 and added it back in the new update for browser compatibility reasons. But there is no functionality change. I’m unsure what would have resulted in your rollover menus not working. Did version 2.0.7 work for you?

Weird. Yeah, 2.1.1 is the first time I’ve noticed the “break.” How long ago was 2.0.7? I only installed Simple Banner for the first time back in mid-April, if I recall correctly–would that have been 2.1.0?

I did just re-activate Simple Banner to be sure, and yeah, with Simple Banner activated neither my menus nor the display of the countdowns created by the Countdown Pro Wpdevart plugin (https://wpdevart.com/wordpress-countdown-plugin) work correctly. Deactivate Simple Banner and they’re both working again.

Let me know if I can help troubleshoot–this is puzzling!

Yeah April would have been 2.1.0. The only thing i would guess is the issue is that the jquery i’m importing is clashing with whatever version those features use. In order to verify i’ll need to see the page with the banner activated. If you can let me know when you’ll be activating the banner i can try to take a look within the hour of activation.

I’ll activate it right now–most of my students have their important pages bookmarked anyway (or should….). Thanks for the troubleshooting help!

Forgot to mention–here’s a page with both a countdown widget and (obviously) the menu bars: https://davidmglasgow.com/sabbatical/countdown/

Good news. Looks like everything works. I’m viewing this on Chrome version 74.0.3729.157. It’s possible that your browser may have cached something which is interfering with the site. Try clearing your cache and opening your site in incognito mode and let me know if you see everything working.

Well, boy, do I feel silly. Clearing the cache fixed it, piece of cake. Sorry to bother you with that one–thanks for the help–and for the great, simple plugin! ??

No worries! I actually had someone else email me about this issue so it helps to know that there is a solution.
