I just updated to the latest version of woocommerce and I think it has killed my dashboard.

Website still works but the wp admin returns a blank HTML page …!!!????

Two other updates at the same time, gravity forms and Woocommerce product addons.

one of these has blown my website up. am in process of downgrading each plugin, will reply with faulty plugin

    Arse.

    Yep, they’ve all gone.

Any chance of getting this back from anywhere? or is it back to an even longer night again!?

Only if you backed up. Never use ‘delete’ in admin as this is essentially uninstalling the plugin.

I don’t think I did, as I lost access to the plugins, but I did manually delete Woocommerce via ftp

I think I do have a database backup, will check in there.

    Thanks, A

A bit off topic, but it would be an EXTREMELY helpful addition for future release perhaps ? …

The ability to select all European Tax areas at once (it takes ages entering them all in manually and looking up their country codes etc).

    Thanks, Andrew

I don’t know if you’re selling digital goods, but if you are this can help https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woocommerce-eu-vat-rates-sync/

If you’re not, I don’t think you need to input all EU areas unless I’m missing something?

    Thread Starter solosails

    (@solosails)

Oh, I thought I had to manually enter each country, so that when a buyer from a country outside the base country shops, it doesn’t drop the VAT?

Maybe I’m wrong, will look into it tonight.

    Cheers, A

Ah, OK, I see, it applies UK standard tax to all transactions. However, I need it to drop UK standard tax for transactions from outside of Europe (IE the States)

currently it keeps UK tax for international sales, I think this is why I hasd to add all the states in manually because I had to set the UK tax for all EU states so that I could get it to drop tax for everywhere else…

A long winded way of having to do it

If you’re in the UK and your not selling digital goods, I think you just need a GB rate of 20%. If prices include tax, 20% will be removed outside of UK. If they exclude tax, 20% will only be added to UK orders.

See our tax docs for more info.

I just did a test, with UK tax rate only enabled, UK tax is added to all products regardless if in or out of EU

Non digital products should have VAT dropped if being sold/exported outside of EU

    Maybe I’m doing something wrong.

I’m sure you’re busy just now, I’ll take a look overnight and try and figure out how I go about it.

Ah, sorry, you’re right I had tax set to be based on shop base rather than customer!

All good You have saved many headaches in a short while!

    Thanks

    Thread Starter solosails

    (@solosails)

Ahhh!!! but now it drops tax if inside EU — Looks like I might have to add each EU country after all!

OK, I’m blocked out again !

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare geoip_load_shared_mem() (previously declared in /home4/solosai1/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wfGeoIP.php:241) in /home4/solosai1/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/libraries/geoip.php on line 1393

Have just resent the amended wc-class geo file, no change

    Plugin Contributor Mike Jolley (a11n)

2.3.2 removes the geoIP class for its own. Update. geoip_load_shared_mem no longer exists.

OK, will have to do it via ftp. Thanks

Did you get a chance to test what I was saying about EU VAT setup – I don’t mind entering each EU country in separately, as once it’s done, it’s done, but it is a real pain to do in the first place.

    thanks again, A

    (@mikejolley)

I’m not sure what you’re saying – we don’t charge VAT to EU countries in the UK for regular products.
