I’m getting this error message between the H1 and blog content on my posts since the latest plugin update:

Warning: strpos(): Empty needle in /home/customer/www/digitalnomadsoul.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/easy-table-of-contents/includes/class.post.php on line 445

If I deactivate the plugin, the error message is gone (but obviously so are the table of contents on all posts).

This error appears only on some posts, not all. Does anyone know how to fix that?

This would be an example: https://www.digitalnomadsoul.com/set-up-a-shopify-store/

Darn it. I did an empty check on the wrong item! Version >= 2.0.5 will check for empty on the correct item. This will be released sometime this week.

In the meantime, since this is only a warning, which is meant only for developers and is considered a best practice not to display on live sites please see this FAQ on how to disable PHP warnings and log them instead.

I am having the same problem. Mine popped up on a page that I had just published without any caching plugins installed. It showed up as soon as it was published so it couldn’t have been a caching error. The only thing that makes it go away is to disable easy table of contents.
