Has anyone else found that the latest version (7.7.3) of Yoast SEO breaks the links to post archive URLs, such as example.com/blog/2016/2

  • Same.

    This is aggrivating

    Hi @lazykins and @johnfiveleven,

We would like some more information.

    A. Can you provide a url which highlights the issue?

    B. Can you confirm you are using WordPress 4.9.7? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider.?Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast.?This guide explains more:?https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/.

    C. If you disable Yoast SEO briefly (doing so will not hurt the SEO of your site), does the issue still happen or does it resolve?

    B. Yes, on the latest
    C. even after removing the plugin the problem remains. The links just go straight to home page.

I have since restored from a backup, with YOAST installed. Cannot get it to reinstate the archives function to work as designed. Is there a shutgun approach to reinstating this functionality?

Is there a particular php file that we need to edit to make sure that a boolean isn’t toggeled?

    A. Certainly, you can go to THIS WEBSITE and use the blog sidebar’s archive drop down menu to attempt to access any of the posts. They’re all broken.

    B. Yes, 4.9.7 running Virtue Premium by Kadence.

    C. Unlike JohnFiveEleven I have no perpetual issues after I deactivate Yoast. I am not running any caching plug-ins.

(John, try re-saving your permalinks = shotgun)

Can you please let me know when you’ve look at the (live) site example, so I can deactivate the plug-in until problem is resolved. Client grumbling. Thank you.

Based on the information you provided, we expect this to be a bug. We’re actively using the bug tracking on our GitHub repository so your best next step would be to create a new issue for our developers at https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/new. You will need an account to create a new issue. If this is your first bug report, please check out: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/.

Don’t forget to include the URL to this conversation in your bug report.

I have fixed it by temporarily enabling Date Archives in Search Appearance. Thank you.

@lazykins Thanks for confirming you were able to resolve the issue. If the issue does persist we would recommend creating a bug report though so if this is a bug it can be resolved.

I too am having this issue and enabling Date Archives does not resolve.
I am using Yoast SEO Version 8.2.1 and WordPress Version 4.9.8.

    Sincerely,
    Phil
