Hi, since updating my site won’t publish GMB posts. I’ve disconnected and reconnected my Google account, but it’s still not working.
“Post to Google My Business: There recently has been an issue publishing a post to one of your GMB locations: Failed to create/update post: No Google account connected at time of publishing.”
    Any help?

Hi @allancav, thanks for reporting this!

Is this on the auto-post feature, or when you manually create a post (or both!? ??).

Hi @allancav, I think I may be on to something.

Does the error return a few minutes after dismissing it? (do not create any new posts in the meantime)

Does it display any posts in the post calendar? (Post to GMB > Dashboard, bottom of page)

Hi Koen, it worked when I posted manually, it won’t autopost.

It’s displaying the failed attempts to post and the successful (manual) post in the calendar. I haven’t dismissed the error message yet, so I’ll do that now and see if it returns.

    Hi Allan,

Have you saved the settings after reconnecting your Google account and selecting the appropriate “default location” in Post to GMB > Settings > Google settings?

If manual posts are working fine, most likely there is something wrong with the auto-post template. Maybe it hasn’t updated correctly during the update. If you are on any of the premium versions, make sure your location is selected in the “Advanced Post settings” of the auto-post template (Post to GMB > Settings > Auto-post settings), and save the template.

    Hi Koen,

Yes settings saved and and correct default location is selected.
I don’t have premium, is there any other way to fix it?

    Hey Allen,

I’m investigating what could be causing it. When you enable the auto-post toggle on an existing WordPress post and then save it, does it fail too?

    (@allancav)

Yes, I just tried that with an older post and it did not publish to GMB.

Very strange, I’ll have to investigate this a bit further and will get back to you.

The error means the plugin can not find the Google user ID. The previous version of the plugin did not use that ID, so I’m suspecting some sort of upgrade issue with the auto-post template!

Thanks Koen. So the autopost uses a different ID to the manual poster? I wonder would it help to uninstall and reinstall the plugin?

    Hey Allan,

Both the auto-post and manual post go through the same publishing process, but maybe there is some corrupted location data (hidden) in the auto-post template.

I’ve done some more investigation and can’t really find anything that would cause it unless there is something corrupted in the auto-post template.

You can indeed try to reinstall the plugin (enable Delete plugin settings in Post to GMB > Settings > Misc first) and see if that fixes it.
