• I updated to the latest version. Now it’s not sending the emails I had set up to send. Setup looks fine. How do I fix?

The version just prior to this (4.2.1) crashed my website. I had to remove the plugin, and re-add then update to the latest version.

I need to get this fixed ASAP.. My client is HOT. PLEASE HELP!

  • Can you test sending the Default contact form created when you click “add new”

Sorry for the delay, I was called into a meeting.

I created a ‘default’ test form.
I still get nothing no email gets generated..

My original form, was sending to more that one email address.. I did work fine. Was just confirming that it isn’t part of the problem that may have changed in the update. The emails are separated by commas.

It was working until I did the update.
    What could have possibly changed?

Here is a link to the new test form.

If you don’t have to many forms and could copy the settings for them, I would also recommend trying: uninstall and delete the plugin and then reinstall and see if that fixes it. I know it could be a pain if you have more than a handful of forms but it may solve your problem. Could also instead of uninstalling from the wordpress backend, delete the contents of the plugin folder via ftp and then upload the latest version of the plugin. This will allow you to keep the data in the database while ensuring all of the latest files are freshly installed.

What do the To: From: and Subject: lines look like in the form builder. you can replace the email addresses with a placeholder.

I deactivated the plugin, removed the folder, then re-added it with a newly downloaded version. Still nothing. I’m so confused.

in regards to the “To:” and “From” and replacing them with a placeholder. Don’t I need the “To:” so it knows where to send the email?

I meant when sharing your setup with us. I don’t need to see your actual email addresses, just the way they are formatted in the fields.

I have been using Contact Form 7 for several years. Recently, as of July 9th, the form stopped working, no emails. I have touched nothing.

Today, because it is not working, I have updated WP, and the CF7 plug-in. No go. I disabled the plug in and deleted it and then reinstalled it… no go.

My customers cannot reach me via this form.

    Thanks for any help. Larry

@larrynolson – As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic.

Posting in an existing topic and taking over the original posters question is generally considered inappropriate.

Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

I also have CF7 4.2.1 running on a user-installed WP ver 4.2.2 using a recently ported GoDaddy Cpanel instance. Am not sure when the form stopped emailing though do know it was sometime after 6.24.2015. Since I am a shared host instance, I don’t have access to MAILDIR, I don’t think, so I have no idea how to recover any emails that didn’t go. Our season is cranking up and I need to fix this so appreciate any troubleshooting steps anyone can share.

@erhall55 – Sounds exact.. My Godaddy Cpanel is the same.. My last email submission that I know was successful was 7/8/15.

@erhall55 – please keep me posted.. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one. Something needs to be done to fix it and everyone keeps saying it’s not them… very frustrating..

I would suggest flamingo, at least that way you can keep track of what gets submitted in the future. even if the mail does not go through.
