    (@copiaurbietorbi)

    Good day Folks,

We updated to the latest version of the plugin and now the website font is not working. We noticed the interface changed and we are not sure if we need to upgrade to the pro version to get what we have before. Please advise.

If we need to configure the plugin differently in order to have the same website settings that we had before, please provide the information to adjust them accordingly.

Right now we deactivated the plugin. Please provide instructions to delete the plugin and all the data that generates from the website safely and efficiently as well.

In advance, thank you for your help and prompt response.

  • Same here, v4.1.3 no longer works at all for me. There is a call to /wp-json/omgf/v1/download/css?etc but it’s returning a 404. My “Save files to” setting is the default /uploads/omgf but there is no /wp-content/uploads/omgf folder created. Even if I create one there are no local static font files created. The previous version worked really well.

Update: Embed Google Fonts kind of works but the first page hit is horrendously slow and there is no way to stop it caching other fonts (Roboto, Noto serif, italics) that are not used or wanted in my case. The only alternatives I can see is to download and manage Google fonts manually or perhaps pay $5/m and use Cloudflares new Automatic Platform Optimization for WordPress and let Cloudflare worry about caching Google fonts. Hmm, or maybe copy an older version of OMGF from another site that has not been updated yet and store it on Github.

If OMGF Free 3.x worked for you before, 4.x Free should work, too.

Love to help here, but I don’t know what you had before. ?? Please provide more info.

Please provide instructions to delete the plugin and all the data that generates from the website safely and efficiently as well.

Under advanced settings, there’s an option at the bottm, check that option. Once you uninstall the plugin, everything (settings and downloaded files) will be removed along with it.

What fixed the 404? More people are experiencing this, and all I can come up with is that the OMGF_API_Download class doesn’t exist and something went wrong while downloading the update.

The 1st page hit is slow, that’s correct. That’s because it’s downloading the files and generating the stylesheet. In the next release I’m going to implement a mode that allows you to decide for yourself whether you’d like to use the full automatic approach or run them manually (like Auto Detect in v3, but without all the steps involved)

and there is no way to stop it caching other fonts (Roboto, Noto serif, italics) that are not used or wanted in my case.

That’s correct. Modifying the stylesheet to unload fonts in v4 is removed. But, due to all the feedback I’m considering to bring it back in a different form. Thing is that I got a lot of criticism over the past few months for the plugin involving ‘a lot of unnecessary steps, when people just want to download their fonts and be done with it’. But now I removed this feature, I’m getting criticism again. You can’t please everyone. ??

In this sticky post I provided steps to rollback to the v3 of OMGF.

Doesn’t work any more for me too (on Oxygen Builder websites).

The option to choose and download the fonts manually was more convenient and uses to work very well.

    Hi @mikeingz,

While a lot of people were complaining before about that feature being too complicated, etc. Now it seems that also a lot of people are missing it.

I’m working on a separate add-on that’ll bring back that feature. Working on it, meanwhile, if you like, you can rollback to v3 using the steps in this ticket.

Yeah I went back to the v3 and it’s fine now

Not easy to please everybody ??

    Good day,

Sorry. The instructions provided didn’t work for us. We are using wordpress 5.4.2 and didn’t ask us to replace the existing version of OMGF with the currently uploaded version. It found the same file and the download failed.

Perhaps you can provide a link where we can download the previous version directly instead.

If this is the case we can delete the current version (following your instructions) and check if by installing the previous version would work again for us.

Thank you for your help and prompt response.

    Hi!

Ok, WP 5.4 doesn’t allow you to replace uploads. Simply remove the old version (make sure that ‘Remove settings at uninstall’ is unchecked under Advanced Settings) and then follow the steps again.

    Good day,

We followed your instructions and the sites are working as before.

As feedback, if your plugin new version is supposed to do what the older version used to do but it doesn’t, then there may be a fix that needs to be made.

Thank you for your help and interest.

    @copiaurbietorbi,

Yes, I’m working very hard to resolve the issues in v4.

@schuerich, I’m going to need more than that. To rollback to v3, or help me debug the issue, read this.

I have rolled back to v3 and all appears fine.

There are still a few niggles but I think it’s loading right.

I am a unique case because I’m using quite a few Caching plugins.

Alas, I have now lost my ‘Licence’ for Pro with a message “Register your license key to start using your FFWP products.”

How do I get that back for now?
