• Hi there, my technical knowledge is limited but when I updated to the latest version of auto-optimize 2.7.6 it causes a CSS issue and the webpage doesn’t load correctly. If I deactivate auto-optimize the webpage loads fine. I don’t know if its a compatibility issue as I also updated to woocommerce 4.3.1 It was working fine before I updated these. Where could I download the previous version of auto optimize from to see fits ok with that version? Thanks

maybe try reactivating AO and untick “aggregate CSS” or “optimize CSS” to see if that works?

if you can share your site’s URL I’ll be happy to take a look (but that only makes sense if it is broken, else on a staging-site?)

lastly; can you can download the previous version from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/autoptimize.2.7.5.zip

    Hi Frank
Just to come back to you, when I untick the ‘aggregate CSS’ box it seems to fix the problem.
I will test the previous version tomorrow with Aggregate CSS-files ticked to see if it works as well

    Thanks for your help

The Autoptimized CSS file seems to be simply missing in action, can you clear Kinsta’s page cache ?

    Thread Starter allergylifestyle

    (@cathydol)

Kinsta doesn’t enable cache on staging sites but I cleared the cache within the auto to optimise setting if that helps. Kinsta said previously when I asked them why there is a CSS issue on the staging site if it is a copy of the live site

‘So, Autoptimize is calling a cache folder from the CDN on the live site “/wp-content/cache/autoptimize/css/filename.css”. The reason it’s suddenly causing issues now is that that file no longer exists on the live site, this is likely because there was a change on the live site which caused Autoptimize to regenerate the CSS file, which would change the cached CSS file’s name. So when the staging site is trying to call the original cached CSS file, it doesn’t exist.
Simply disabling the CDN option in staging would still allow you to check for conflicts while Autoptimize is enabled, it just won’t be served from the live site’s CDN just before pushing to live just simply re-add the CDN domain, no other actions are needed’

I could click the aggregate CSS on the live site if you want to see the CSS on the live site or disable the CDN in the staging site if either of these help

Ah ok, you had CDN on in staging, can you indeed disable that on staging so I can re-check? ??

    Thread Starter allergylifestyle

    (@cathydol)

Ok I have removed the Kinsat CDN. It wouldn’t let me leave the CDN field blank so I put in my web domain instead. Hope that’s ok

the Autoptimized CSS is still loaded from the live stie I’m afraid; https://www.allergylifestyle.com/wp-content/cache/autoptimize/css/autoptimize_12f63f418f22af2bb11d9a02fceeb976.css

maybe add the URL of the staging site as CDN url?

    (@cathydol)

Thanks for your help I have done that now

OK, had a look at https://staging-rujofite.kinsta.cloud/ both desktop & mobile and at first sight all seems OK?

    Thread Starter allergylifestyle

    (@cathydol)

Hi I ticked the Aggregate CSS box on the live site and you can see the issue on mobile. I can’t attach a screenshot here to mobile. It looks fine on desktop

    Thread Starter allergylifestyle

    (@cathydol)

As in you can see the problem on the live site AllergyLifestyle.com

Not sure why can’t see on staging site unless its something to do with cdn?

looks OK as well cathydol ?

can you explain what is wrong/ share an (annotated) screenshot?

    (@cathydol)

I have a screen shot from my mobile phone but can’t see how to paste or attach it to this forum chat. Can you look up the live site homepage on a mobile phone AllergyLifestyle.com, and scroll down. You should see images are not displaying correctly. Or how can I share my mobile screenshot in this chat?
