Hi, I have several websites that I manage, and after updating from version 4.7.1 to 4.7.2 or 4.7.4, it stopped working.

It just keeps giving the message “please verify that you are not a robot”

And I manage several websites, every time I updated the same thing happened.

I had to disable GRecaptcha in all, and some, I left it at version 4.7.1.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @nossileee,

Hope this message finds you well, and sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue.

After testing on different sites I was not able to reproduce the issue, still, after checking I noticed your site is using WooCommerce, would you let us know:

    – Are you using the same theme in all affected sites?
    – Is the error also shown in the WP default login?
    – I noticed the login/register form on your site is a wrapper, could you try using the regular page instead?
    – Could you perform a conflict test and let us know the results? Kindly follow this guide for it https://wpmudev.com/docs/getting-started/getting-support/#conflict-test

    Best regards,
    Laura

    Hi Laura!

    – Are you using the same theme on all affected sites?
-> Yes, the same Woodmart theme

    – Is the error also shown in the WP default login?
-> No, it’s only in the Woocommerce Login, customers can’t connect to their account, it always gives the same error, I had to disable the total recap, and then I realized that sites that were still on version 4.7.1 were not affected , with that, I downgraded some, and others had the recaptcha disabled.

    – I noticed the login/register form on your site is a wrapper, could you try using the regular page instead?
-> The issue is that it ALWAYS worked (I’ve been using it for years)….after version 4.7.2 this happened.

    – Could you perform a conflict test and let us know the results? Kindly follow this guide for it https://wpmudev.com/docs/getting-started/getting-support/#conflict-test
-> I deactivated the plugins, left only the basics, woocommerce + theme + Elementor + Defender and the error persists.

    Hi @nossileee,

Could we know what type of captcha you have configured ie v2 Checkbox, v2 invisible, reCaptcha v3?

Possible to check whether you get the same error with all these captchas or if the issue is specific to any one?

->?I deactivated the plugins, left only the basics, woocommerce + theme + Elementor + Defender and the error persists.

Since Woodmart is a 3rd party premium theme what we could test is limited, possible to also run a quick check if you temporarily switch to a default WP theme ie Twenty TwentyFour?

You can test the above in a staging site if it isn’t possible to switch the theme. The above steps will help in ruling out the source of the issue.

Could you please let us know how the above goes? Looking forward to your response.

    Kind Regards,

    Nithin

    Hi

Could we know what type of captcha you have configured ie v2 Checkbox, v2 invisible, reCaptcha v3?

I tested with EVERYONE, the same problem occurred.

    I can’t change the theme….these are sites in production….

I won’t have time to create a test site for this….but it’s a real problem, it happened on more than 6 sites here, it caused quite a headache

Look, version 4.7.1 works perfectly, as it always has.
I’ll keep this version on everyone for now.

    Hi @nossileee,

I understand your concern and am extremely sorry about the inconvenience caused.

I understand that the issue appeared on your website after updating to the latest version, but functions correctly when reverted to version 4.7.1. However, this seems to be isolated to your specific website, as we’ve successfully tested the feature with the latest Defender version on our test environments. Unfortunately, diagnosing the issue without replicating it on our end will be challenging.

The issue you’re experiencing is likely due to a conflict between the theme and the latest version of Defender. To confirm this, we’ll need to conduct a conflict test. However, because Woodmart is a premium plugin, our testing capabilities are limited. This is why we’ve suggested setting up a staging website where we can diagnose the issue without affecting live traffic.

It’s advisable to keep the plugin updated to avoid potential performance issues and vulnerabilities. However, I understand your decision to stick with the old version of the plugin due to issues with Google Re-Captcha not functioning.

I’ve searched our records for similar reported issues but haven’t found any. Could you please reach out to your hosting provider to inquire if they can assist in setting up a staging website? Typically, hosting providers offer straightforward options for creating staging environments. Alternatively, you can try using a plugin like https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-staging/ to set up a staging website.

Please feel free to reach out to us if you need any clarification.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John

    Hello, how are you?

I have the same problem. On several sites that I have created, with different plugins, the recaptcha problem is also happening. I have tested with different types of recaptcha (v2 and v3). The error message appears as if I had not logged in, but even with the error, if I type the address of the dashboard (/wp-admin) I can access it normally. However, it took a while to discover that the login had been successful, since the message is that there was an error in the recaptcha.

    Hi @bazzarello

I hope you are doing well.

Even though that looks similar we need to investigate case by case,

Can you create a new thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/defender-security/#new-topic-0 so we don’t spam the original thread starter?

I disabled recaptcha in woocommerce, so I didn’t have any more problems, but what he reported is the same thing I said

    Hello Patrick,
    Thank you for your feedback!
