We are sorry to hear about your issue. Can you please confirm if the issue persists on Yoast SEO 12.9.1?
    ?
Just to be sure, we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. The fastest way to do this is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Nineteen.

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check without affecting normal visitors to your site.

As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts.

    Thanks for the reply @jerparx
Currently we are using 9.2 version of Yoast Seo plugin and we are using wordpress with 5.2.5 as we are getting issue with wordpress version 5.3.2.

Hi, I’m chiming in because we have a similar issue with the title and description fields. And when we tried to update Yoast, we received an error that said “Update Failed: There has been a critical error on your website.”

We are up-to-date with the latest versions of WordPress and PHP. Our version of Yoast is 10.0.1.

Follow up to my previous post… Once we updated all our plugins and purged our server cache (the site is hosted by WPEngine) we were able to update the Yoast plugin.

@tmounica Version 9.2 is several versions out of date so using that is not recommended. Can you please confirm whether the issue is resolved when you are using the most recent Yoast v13.0? You can learn more about updating here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/

@jacksonsky Please create a new issue if you are experiencing a similar problem as this helps us in tracking as this can be caused by many different variables (WordPress version, other plugins, etc).
