• Resolved WP CMS Ninja

    (@billiardgreg)

I have already started a support ticket with Post SMTP. You can find that here, https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/mailer-type-warning/.

I figured I should also bring it to your attention to so that we could try to track down what is happening. I have tested this on a very fresh WordPress v6.5.3 install that just has Post SMTP and this plugin installed. Post SMTP is set up to be the default settings so there is no customizations done to that yet, nor any customizations to the Popup Builder.

When just Post SMTP is active, there is no error message. When I activate Popup Builder I get the following error code:

Postman: wp_mail has been declared by another plugin or theme, so you won’t be able to use Postman until the conflict is resolved.

Which I find strange as to why is Popup Builder declaring wp_mail?

    PostSMTP responded with the following:

We have checked the Popup Builder version 4.3.2 and found that this includes a file named pluggable.php. wp_mail is a pluggable function and every SMTP plugin overrides it and it is WordPress standard, if any plugin includes this file before we override this function then plugin will not be able to send emails.

So what has changed with Popup Builder that is causing this issue that was not in 4.3.0? @callerpatty had a good response to this ticket but a moderator for some reason removed it thinking it was not the same issue.

@billiardgreg They told me to start my own ticket so I did … but exact same issue. Plugin developers seem to be unresponsive, so fingers crossed.

I am still seeing this as an issue. Any resolution for this issue? I see other people are posting about this as well.

We’re having to downgrade all our sites to 4.3.0 because of this wp_mail() conflict. If the plugin developer is here monitoring this, can we provide any additional information to help troubleshoot?
