Layout appears broken in Magazine Basic

Hi there,

I am relatively new to WP & could use some help. I have selected the Magazine Basic theme, however regardless of what layout combination I select (in terms of Theme Options > Layout > Sidebar options) my sidebars appear below my main content, while my content is squeezed to the side. I have not changed the HTML or CSS of the site, so this is an odd thing to occur right away.

How can I fix this?
