    Hello,
I have a problem related to caching. I use W3 total cache. Once for a while there is a problem with viewing the page on Safari browser, MacOS especially. The layout breaks, text is not formatted, images disappear etc. When I purge the cache using “Purge All Caches” button, some of it fixes. But still, on some pages it is present.

It fixes completely when I go into “Pages” section in my WordPress dashboard and “Purge from cache” one specific page there is a problem with.

How often should the caches be purged? Is there a way to do it automatically? I cannot keep on checking whether the site is broken or not and then fix it manually. I am looking for a way to keep it automatic.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello @matpol7

I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
Can you please confirm that this only happens on Safari and not on Chrome, Firefox, and other browsers?
I’ve checked the website using all mentioned browsers and I was not able to see the issue.

Once for a while there is a problem with viewing the page on the Safari browser

Can you please specify how often you can see the problem?
I can see that you enabled Database Caching and Object Caching, and both used Disk. I would advise disabling DB caching and Object Caching as that may cause problems, or use memory-based caching like Memcached or Redis for those two modules.

There is no option to purge the cache at a specific time. The Disk: Enhanced caching is persistent and purging the cache often could consume a lot of server resources.
Please disable the mentioned options, save all settings and purge the cache after both are disabled, and let me know if and when you see the issue again so I can check the website.
    Thanks!

Yes, it only happens on Safari as for now.

Can you please specify how often you can see the problem?

It is difficult to specify. It just happens at some time. Is it possible that is happens after some plugins are automatically updated and the caches are nor purged yet?

I will follow what you advised. However, I am afraid I won’t see any changes now, because after I have purged the caches yesterday the problem disappeared. Still, I can make the changes and watch if it breaks again.

    Hello @matpol7

    Thank you for your feedback.
Yes, once the plugins are updated, their JS/CSS files may be also updated which may cause wrong files to be cached.
This is why you should only update plugins manually, and of course, purge the cache once the update is finished.
Let me know if the issue occurs again so I can check the website using Safari.
    Thanks!
