The layout was changed in version 3 to put each task into its own table, so that some of the info could be moved above the table, instead of in columns with redundant info for every row. Mainly because the table would often extend off the edge of the screen if you had all the columns showing (depending on your theme), and especially if used with the Custom Fields extension that could add even more columns.

You can go back to the original layout with everything in one table with the Customizer:

super cheap extension that I added a ton of features to last year, and helps to pay for continued support and development. Lots of custom layout features.

I bought the customizer. Where is the option to just go back to the old display? Sorry, I’m not sure what I”m looking for.

    Documentation is here:

You need to create a new layout template, and then for the “Template Table Style” option, choose the “Single Table” option which will put everything in one table, similar to the original layout.

Once you have saved the template, it will appear in the dropdown select box for “Customizer Layout Options” on the Add/Edit Sheet page for each sheet. You can create as many templates as you need, so that different sheets can have different layouts if you want (maybe you want to show different columns for some sheets).

    Getting there, thank you!!

One more thing I can’t seem to disable. The Show x entries dropdown and the search box are appearing even though I don’t have the Live Search box checked in settings. ??

Those are from the DataTables jQuery script. Turn off (uncheck) the option to use datatables in your templates, and you won’t see those. Datatables is useful if you have many many table entries, as it allows you to search, sort, and paginate the results.

If you want to use the grouping feature of datatables, but don’t want the search and # of entries box to show, then you’ll have to add some custom CSS to your theme to set the display of those elements to “none”.
