Layout for Biligual

I am setting up a bilingual blog site. I would like the home page to hold text in two (language) columns so they lie parallel on the page. In other words the main portion must be in two columns-or I must widen a side-bar so it has a width equal with the central section. I chose the theme Coraline-but I’m not sure this will accomplish it. Perhaps it be tweeked to work, perhaps there is a suitable widget or perhaps I need a different theme.
