I am using WordPress Layers, but unfortunately having an issue with a3 Lazy Load and the Layers slider not working quite as I’d like. Of course a slide – by default – allows the visitor to ‘slide’ content, and lazy load does not recognize this, so images just keep spinning/loading, unless the visitor actually moves the page vertically, at which point the images will load. Is this something that could be adjusted within the plugin, or is this something that the WP Layers people need to change in their code?

  • Same issue. My hosting company installed Lazy load for me and slider images do not load. Turn off Lazy load and they do.

Is anyone monitoring this board / post?

I’m not sure if this is considered an issue with the plugin, itself, or with WP Layers. I tried to contact the Layers people but found it very difficult to find a place where I could actually contact a human … and not be referred to faqs or pages redirect to somewhere I didn’t want to be, etc. Even the Layers “chat” feature wouldn’t allow me to create a new message – only respond to previous auto-generated messages sent by Layers staff, and even then I could only reply to those when the particular staff member was “online” and “available,” so I just gave up.

Fortunately for me, on my Layers sites there are only a few images used anyway, so it isn’t too big of a deal, but as more and more people are using sliders, I’m sure there will be lots of people who could benefit from being able to lazy load those images.

As it’s been a month since my original post in this forum, I’ll assume that the plugin author does not monitor this forum; as such I am going to mark this thread as “resolved.” The resolution: Don’t use lazy load with sliders.

*I believe the Lazy Load plugin DOES allow you to change settings so it doesn’t effect specific elements of the page, and perhaps it is possible to tell it not to try to lazy load images in sliders, although I don’t know how to do that.
