Lazy Load images in tabs?

I understand the plugin is designed to only load an image when it’s visible in the viewport. But what if I have images in tabs? The content area of the tabs are are visible in the viewport, but you can’t see the image until its tab is selected. Will the image lazy-load when its tab is selected, or does lazy-loading only work with scrolling?

I’m also curious how this plugin compares to BJ Lazy Load.
