    Hello,
since the last update to version 2.9.6, the lazy load function of autoptimize has stopped working. With version 2.9.5 it still works. Why?
    I hope you can help.

We disabled lazy load on some of our widgets since widgets like grids and galleries on our plugin don’t work well with lazy load enabled. The grids like Posts Grid and Image/Video Gallery widgets make use of isotope library for laying out the grid elements. Isotope library is incompatible with lazy load since it needs to know the actual image dimensions to calculate grid placement values for the exact positioning of grid elements.

I now realize that not all widgets needs lazy load disabled and hence will issue an update within this week to re-enable the same for others like posts block and posts carousel where the lazy load does not hamper layout. Pls give us couple of days time to issue a fix. Thanks.

This has been resolved in the latest update – 2.9.7 version of the plugin. Lazy load should work for all widgets except for the Posts Grid. Posts Grid utilizes the popular isotope library and enabling lazy load for the same would break the grid layout.

Hi there, thank you for the update. Unfortunately I mainly use Post Grid on my site. I don’t understand why it worked before and now it doesn’t. I had no problems on my side with Lazy Load and Post Grid.

Isotope lays out elements in masonry or fitrows layout only by knowing the exact image dimensions. We have numerous reports from our customers and users on things breaking when lazy load option is enabled on their sites. Hence, we decided to selectively enable the same so that other parts of the site can benefit from lazy load.
